JOE HITCHCOCK
Joe is an experienced leader and facilitator through numerous roles within sport, not-for-profit organisations and government agencies in both New Zealand and Canada.
Inaugural New Zealand Sport & Recreation Awards Future Leader Award & Scholarship winner and Massey University Masters graduate, Joe has a track record of leading impact and change in the sports industry
He is the former Chief Executive of Badminton New Zealand and has successfully bid for world championship and international sports events, in the process securing multimillion-dollar levels of government investment and commercial sponsorship.
With extensive experience in athlete leadership and advocacy, Joe has been part of key international and national sport integrity policy and initiatives, highlighting his ability to lead and facilitate complex and sensitive projects.
Joe is also a current Board Member of University and Tertiary Sport New Zealand, former Surfing New Zealand Board Member and founder of Allies for Gender Equity in Aotearoa and SportMatters NZ.
JAMIE TONG
Jamie has a broad and deep knowledge of the sport sector in New Zealand. His specialist areas are leadership and organisational development, strategy design and implementation, and process review and design.
Jamie has worked in numerous roles across the sector, from delivering hands on support to the grassroots community during his time at Cricket Wellington, through to supporting the highest levels of athlete performance at the NZ Olympic Committee. Jamie’s passion for review and improvement of organisations has seen him lead the development and implementation of community sport programmes across several sporting codes, forming strong relationships with sporting bodies in the UK & Australia.
Jamie was appointed Chief Executive of Squash NZ where he gained valuable insights into the intricacies of organisational change, and subsequently as a policy advisor and strategy consultant for several national sporting bodies.
Having a deep interest in the professional and personal development of people, Jamie helps leaders ask the right questions to get clarity on goals and to find the best solutions for improving performance.
